Clothing with lights can be fashionable and functional. In 2010 I created an illuminated coat for city cycling at night. I wanted to solve the challenge of fiddling with bicycle lights, but also have something stylish to wear.

Shown below are the images of the first protoype I produced in March 2010. This idea has since been taken to market and can be viewed at www.angellamackey.com

Here is the switch for the lights. It is a little tab with a magnet in it that flips up.

Here the switch flipped up. Now the lights are ON. The white tape is reflective tape.
