MusicMusique - MUSIC GIFT submitted for portal March 21, 2005

I like the idea of giving music to ppl as a gift...as a communication of wht you're feeling or as a way of altering (for the better) their mood...their environment.
Sometimes I will send ppl music (mp3's) over the internet, and change the title of the song....so that its functional towards what I'm meaning to communicate. For example, there was a song from the Braveheart soundtrack that was called "The Princess Pleas for Wallace's Life" (or something like that)...that i renamed "I'm looking at you through the trees and you are beautiful"...and i sent it to my lover.

In my mind there were two ways of perceiving this song...(1) it brought me back to the part in the movie where the princess pleas for Wallace's life...and (2) i envisioned seeing my boyfriend in a magestic forest...i am looking at him fondly...its very mystical, abstract, and pointless...other than the fact that the scene is simply beautiful - he is in it -i look at him fondly and i wanted to communicate that to him...

I think the giving ppl MUSIC as a GIFT is a wonderful idea - not orginal in the least - but worthy of discussion in this section...the personal APPLICATION of the experience of music for a good cause - a cause that can encourage ppl to communicate in these abstract ways....
